PRONAV Clinical expands into the U.S. with new home in Frederick, Maryland
Irish clinical trial supply specialist joins FITCI and Maryland’s Global Gateway Soft Landing Program to support biotech innovators on both sides of the Atlantic
Sligo, Ireland and Frederick, Maryland, 17 December 2024 – PRONAV Clinical, today announced its expansion into the U.S. market with a new base in Frederick, Maryland. The company has joined the Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc. (FITCI) as part of Maryland’s Global Gateway Soft Landing Program.

The international move builds on PRONAV Clinical’s rapid growth since its founding in 2019 by industry veteran and CEO, Jim Kernan. The company has built its reputation as a boutique partner for small and mid-sized biotech and pharmaceutical companies, offering the agility, precision and personal attention that emerging innovators often struggle to find elsewhere. PRONAV Clinical helps close critical gaps in the clinical trial supply chain, so promising therapies reach the patients waiting for them sooner.
For PRONAV Clinical, the choice of Maryland was a deliberate one, recognizing the state as one of the country’s leading life sciences hubs, with a dense network of biotech companies, research institutions and federal agencies close at hand. For a company whose work depends on thriving innovation that relys on well-connected supply chains, being near that vibrant ecosystem, along with the collabortive nature of the local comunity, is a clear advantage.
“Maryland gives us everything we need to serve U.S. biotech teams well: the innovators, the expertise and the infrastructure, all in one place,” said Jim Kernan, CEO of PRONAV Clinical. “We built PRONAV Clinical to give smaller companies the hands-on attention they often can’t get from larger supply organizations, and that matters even more in areas like rare disease, where every patient and every shipment counts. Being part of the FITCI community means we can work alongside partners like Mesa Science Associates and offer clients a truly joined-up approach.”
Through FITCI and the Global Gateway Soft Landing Program, PRONAV Clinical gains access to advisory services, business resources and funding opportunities that will help establish its U.S. operations. This move strengthens PRONAV Clinicals ability to support emerging biotechs with tailored clinical trial supply solutions across the U.S. and Europe.
“Welcoming international companies like PRONAV Clinical strengthens our local economy and widens the resources available to our business community,” said Kathie Callahan Brady, CEO of FITCI. “It also reinforces Frederick and Maryland as a global hub for life sciences innovation.”
